Our Program

Our venue for 2008: St. Michael's College, Colchester, Vermont

Vermont Chess Camp is held Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on the campus of St. Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont. Each day includes a variety of activities:

• An hour of participatory chess instruction.
• USCF rated game.
• Guest instructor focused on chess problems or players.
• Simuls with the instructors.
• Morning and afternoon swims in an Olympic-size indoor pool.
• St. Mike's famous all-you-can-eat cafeteria lunches.
• Skittles Games (aka "Move and Giggle").
• Blitz Chess (aka "Grab and Snatch").
• Bughouse, our only no-brainer ... but fun.
• Chess videos: Knights of the South Bronx and Searching for Bobby Fischer.

In addition, the week includes:

• Wednesday ferry ride across Lake Champlain to New York, with a picnic and sandcastle building contest -- and more chess!
• Graduation and awards ceremony at conclusion of Vermont Chess Camp.

All of the above is included in the tuition of $425.00 for the week.
